Our goal is to explain a narrow task clearly, with enough detail to use the tools responsibly. We write for people running a business, not for search engines alone.
Sources and examples
We prioritise the ATO, Australian Business Register, ASIC Moneysmart and business.gov.au for Australian tax and business facts. Guide pages include source links. Worked examples are illustrative calculations created for CalcGST; they are not customer cases or claims of professional advice.
Checking the tools
We test core arithmetic, cent rounding, input validation and reconciliation between subtotal, GST and total. Tests include invalid quantities and prices, mixed tax treatments and the difference between per-amount and combined rounding. We also check the interface on small and large screens.
Scope and limitations
A calculator cannot classify a transaction or verify a business’s tax status. We state assumptions next to the tools and avoid claiming that a completed template covers every legal requirement. Our guides are general information, and no registered tax-agent review is claimed.
Updates and corrections
The date on a guide identifies its latest substantive update. Rules and source pages can change. Report an issue through our contact page, ideally with the relevant official source and a small reproducible example.
Images and advertising
Editorial desk images are AI-generated illustrations. They do not depict our staff or customers. Any advertising will be labelled separately from editorial content and tool results. We do not publish fabricated testimonials, star ratings or expert endorsements.
